The ultimate guide to your perfect stay in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world. I have visited four times and only that fourth time I got to actually enjoy being in the city. It is a unique place filled with dazzling lights, luxurious accommodations, and unforgettable experiences – but it can also be overwhelming, kitsch, and people that are… strange, let’s say.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a Vegas veteran, this city never fails to amaze. In this guide, I’ll help you plan your dream Las Vegas vacation, with my personal recommendations for where to stay, what to do, and places to drink and eat.

Where to stay

  • Aria Resort & Casino: A modern masterpiece! Aria combines cutting-edge architecture with world-class dining options and beautiful rooms. I’ve stayed here during my last trip and was genuinely impressed!
  • Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino: Immerse yourself in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Offering stylish accommodations, fantastic dining options, and access to the Miracle Mile Shops, PH is, in my opinion, your best bet on the Strip.
  • The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas: Elegant and trendy, The Cosmopolitan is a one-of-a-kind luxury resort boasting stunning views, eclectic bars, and some of the best restaurants in town. If you can, try to get a room with the terrace overlooking the Strip! Bask in the sun at their multi-level pool oasis or dance the night away at the vibrant Marquee Nightclub.
  • Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino: Stay at the heart of the City of Love! The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and French-inspired architecture create a beautiful, romantic ambiance. In combination with the elegant rooms and a great location in the centre of the Strip, you can’t go wrong with Paris!

Things to do

  • Watch the Bellagio Fountains: Witness the breathtaking water and light show at the iconic Bellagio Fountains. Definitely a must-see attraction for every Vegas visitor.
  • Shop till you drop! My personal favorites are the Premium Outlets (they are two, one at each end of the Strip) and Miracle Mile Shops.
  • Explore the hotels and their unique attractions: Each Las Vegas hotel boasts its own set of extraordinary attractions. Discover the gondola rides at The Venetian, the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, or the High Roller observation wheel at The LINQ, among others.
  • Bask in the sun at the city’s countless pools: Relax and soak up the desert sunshine at the numerous extravagant pools across Las Vegas. In my opinion, the Garden of the Gods pool complex at Caesars Palace, is the best one.
  • Embark on a day trip to Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, or a nearby ghost town! Venture beyond the Strip to explore Nevada’s natural wonders and historic sites.

Where to grab a drink

  • Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan: Sip on innovative cocktails in a stunning, three-level crystal chandelier setting. Try their famous verbena drink!
  • Ski Lodge at The Cosmopolitan: Escape to a cozy winter retreat at this unique après-ski inspired bar. This is a secret bar at the Cosmopolitan and offers a warm, inviting atmosphere complete with faux fur blankets, flickering fireplaces, and a menu of comforting cocktails perfect for sipping and savoring.
  • The Tipsy Robot at the Planet Hollywood: Get served by robotic bartenders at this futuristic bar. Watch as the robots craft your favorite cocktail or create a custom one just for you.
  • Ghost Donkey at The Cosmopolitan: Indulge in a world of mezcal and tequila at this hidden speakeasy-style bar. With a vibrant atmosphere, Ghost Donkey offers an extensive selection of spirits and inventive cocktails for a unique night out.
  • The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails at the Cosmopolitan: Step into a Prohibition-era speakeasy hidden behind a functioning barbershop. Enjoy finely crafted cocktails and live music in this intimate, vintage-inspired venue.

As you can see, for some reason, most of my favorite bars are at the Cosmopolitan. They just know how to do it!

Where to eat

  • Spago by Wolfgang Puck at Bellagio: A contemporary twist on classic American cuisine by the celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. Enjoy stunning views of the Bellagio Fountains as you indulge in a lovely meal. I took my parents to this restaurant to celebrate their wedding anniversary and they absolutely loved it!
  • Il Fornaio at New York-New York: Authentic Italian cuisine, where traditional recipes and fresh ingredients come together to create mouthwatering dishes. Enjoy warm hospitality and a delightful ambiance inspired by the Italian countryside.
  • Din Tai Fung at ARIA Resort & Casino: A world-renowned Taiwanese cuisine, famous for its delicate soup dumplings. We tried their dumpling soups and can definitely recommend!
  • P.F. Chang’s at Planet Hollywood: Probably the most affordable option on this list. Taste Asian at this popular restaurant chain offering an extensive menu of Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes.
  • Brera Osteria at St. Mark’s Square in The Venetian: Discover the culinary gems of Northern Italy. Relax in the warm and inviting atmosphere as you enjoy handcrafted pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and more.
  • Urth Caffé at Wynn Plaza Shops: Organic, farm-to-table, a vibrant eatery known for its sustainable practices and artisan coffee.

Las Vegas offers an unforgettable experience with a great mix of attractions, accommodations, and dining options. From world-class hotels and awe-inspiring shows to indulgent culinary delights and thrilling day trips, the city never ceases to amaze. Embark on your Las Vegas adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime.
